Twilight Prophet Twilight Prophet requires you to ascend and gain the citys blessing to partake in the lifegain, but its far easier than it sounds, especially if your deck creates tokens or puts extra lands into play

You then jam the deck full with lands that enter tapped, like Gruul Turf and Simic Growth Chamber so that you can use all their mana right away

It protects you from everything for a full turn cycle, then it becomes a card draw engine that scales with each activation
